Testimonials

**Names are not mentioned to maintain confidentiality of the client.**

“Dr Ambika is extremely empathetic towards her patients. She is kind ,considerate and patient; every quality you look for in a psychologist. She is talented and updated at her profession."
  • What if I’ve never done therapy before?
That’s completely okay — many of our clients are new to therapy. Your therapist will guide you through the process gently. You don’t need to prepare anything — just come as you are.
  • What happens in a therapy session?
Sessions are conversational and collaborative. You’ll have a safe space to talk, be heard without judgment, and explore what’s going on. Your therapist will work with you to understand patterns, support change, and build emotional resilience
  • Do you offer online sessions?
Yes, we offer secure online therapy for clients across India and for NRIs abroad. This allows flexibility and access no matter where you are.
  • What concerns can I come to therapy for?
You can come to therapy for anything that’s on your mind — including anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, grief, life transitions, low self-esteem, identity concerns, or feeling stuck. You don’t need to have a “big” problem to begin.
  • Should I see a psychologist or a psychiatrist?
It depends on what kind of support you're looking for. A psychologist (like the therapists at The Safe Couch) offers talk therapy to help you explore emotions, thought patterns, and relationships — and work toward meaningful change. If you're struggling with emotional distress, life challenges, or want to understand yourself better, a psychologist is a great starting point. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can prescribe medication for mental health conditions. If you're considering medication or need a formal diagnosis, a psychiatrist can help. At The Safe Couch, we also have a psychiatrist on our team. This allows for seamless collaboration when therapy and medication need to go hand-in-hand. If your therapist feels a psychiatric consultation would be helpful, they can guide you through that process and connect you internally.
  • What is your fee structure? Is a sliding scale available?
Our fee structure varies depending on the therapist you choose. You can view each therapist’s individual fee and select someone who aligns with your needs and budget. We do offer a limited number of sliding scale slots, which can be discussed during your first consultation. These are reserved for clients who meet certain eligibility criteria. While we aim to make therapy accessible, sliding scale options are thoughtfully considered on a case-by-case basis in conversation with your therapist.
  • Is everything I share confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is a core part of the therapeutic relationship. Everything you share stays between you and your therapist, with rare exceptions (such as safety concerns), which will be discussed with you in advance.
  • How long does therapy take?
This depends on your goals and what you’re working through. Some people come for short-term support; others find longer-term work helpful. We’ll check in regularly to see what’s working for you.
